It’s fire station open day at #Hornchurch.

Celebrating 150 years of the London Fire Brigade, there will be Vehicle displays, refreshments, funfair rides & more

Meet your local fire fighters and life-sized Playmobil ones, see exciting fire and rescue demonstrations plus receive fire safety advice and enjoy toys and activities galore in the event that runs from 12 – 5pm

Visitors can enjoy finding out more about the types of emergency incidents firefighters are called to attend, see the tools carried on a fire engine and even see urban search and rescue dogs in action.

Children and adults alike can sit inside one of the fire station’s engines and see what is it like behind the wheel of our impressive emergency vehicles.

Alongside the station’s fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and vintage appliance will be parked up, allowing visitors to see the range of vehicles used by the Brigade.

After admiring the vehicles, children can try on a firefighter’s protective uniform and even have their photograph taken while wearing a firefighter’s helmet.

In the spirit of a day of celebration, youngsters can enjoy fairground rides, a bouncy castle, face painting and a penalty shoot out competition.

The open day will also be attended by London Ambulance Service’s hazardous area response team (HART), our Fire Cadets and Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhood Team.
