Officers gained entry and discovered 51 fully grown cannabis plants in a bedroom. The back dining room, the loft and all three bedrooms were blacked out with reflective material. It was clear that several harvests had been previously grown at the property. A white van was parked on the drive and was found to be full of ventilation equipment.

No one was inside the property at the time.

Enquiries continue to identify the residents at the property.

Sergeant Mitchell, from Elm Park and Hacton Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “An emergency warrant was obtained after intelligence revealed the address was ready to be cleared out.

“Cannabis factories pose a serious fire risk not only to the property they are being cultivated in but also to neighbouring properties as well.

“This is an excellent result for the local community who we depend upon to provide us with information about crime and anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhood.”
