A new book has been released by Amberley Books, all about the history of Hornchurch. It uses historical photographs of Hornchurch to show how it’s changed and the buildings we’ve kept over the years.

The history of Hornchurch ranges from the graves of the first world war New Zealand Soldiers to The Grey Towers camp.

It’s a interesting read, Hornchurch has changed a lot over the years and works such as road widening has destroyed many historic buildings, but it’s interesting the small tokens that survived, such as the houses along Butts Green Road, opposite Emerson Park Station.
