December is almost upon us and there are lost of events coming up:

Theatre:

Beauty and the Beast at The Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch
29th November 2017 – 6th January 2018
Come and join in the fun as your favourite fairytale comes to life in a magical, fun-packed panto for the whole family.

In a land far away, lived a bright and beautiful young woman. Her life becomes in danger when she is taken prisoner by a hideous Beast in his castle. Will she escape? Will the Beast be able to find true love and break his terrible curse?

You’ll enjoy booing the baddie, cheering your hero and laughing along with the hilarious Dame as you join the adventure to see if love really can conquer all.

Beauty and the Beast has it all – sparkling sets, colourful costumes, tunes that you all know, lots of laughter and most importantly plenty of audience participation.

From the team that brought you the box office smash-hit spectacular Cinderella, it’s going to be the best Christmas extravaganza in town!

Narnia at Brentwood Theatre
5th – 29th December 2017
Join us on a journey beyond the wardrobe for a musical retelling based on the C.S. Lewis classic ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’.

1941 sees four English school children evacuated from their home and stumble across Narnia, a magical realm covered in snow and Ice. Along the way they befriend some of the talking animals and mythical creatures who inhabit Narnia. The children are each given a special gift which will help them assist Aslan, The Great Lion, to defeat The White Witch.
Suitable for ages 5 and upwards.

Twas the Night Before Christmas at The Broadway, Rainham, RM13 9YN
6th – 22nd December 2017
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

A magical Queen’s Theatre show for 3 – 7 year olds and their families performed at a new venue, in the historic Hayloft at the charming National Trust property Rainham Hall.

Leave your shoes and slippers by the fireplace and settle down to hear one child’s story about the night they met a certain twinkly eyed, round-bellied chap!

The Blue Tees will be performing the pantomime “Cinderella” at the Myplace centre in December. This is the first time they’ve ever performed a pantomime.

Tickets are extremely limited and go on sale Monday 4 September.

We will be announcing the cast list one character at a time.

Give your kids an early Christmas treat…bring them along to the Museum on Saturday 9th December at 11.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-2.30pm.

They’ll met Santa, listen to his amazing adventures with his Elves and reindeer…receive a present and a magic bell. The young ones will also get the opportunity to record what they want for Christmas by placing their messages on Santa’s Wishing Tree. The visit includes craft activity and is suitable for kids 4-10 year olds.

Tea With Santa at Wyevale Garden Centre, Nags Head Lane, Upminster, RM14 1TS
18 – 23 December 2017
Check out Santa’s menu that he has planned for your visit to see him for tea this Christmas!
He has planned a Child’s Hot Tea for £10.00 which will be a choice of Pork sausages, crispy chicken nuggets or jacket potato with baked beans or cheese. There will also be seasonal vegetables and unlimited squash for the children to drink with their tea.

Your little elf could opt for a Child’s Cold Tea instead which is also £10.00 and for the cold menu, they can choose any 4 items and a drink from Wyevales Little Diggers My Picnic range.

For mum and dad, grandparents and adults accompanying the children on this special outing, the adult afternoon tea is £8.00 each where you will enjoy a festive afternoon tea of fresh finger sandwiches, colourful patisserie and scones with jam and clotted cream. All served with a pot of tea or regular filter coffee.

If you want something a little lighter, the adult mini-tea at £4.50 will fill you with a slice of festive cake from the Wyevale restaurant, served with a pot of tea or regular filter coffee.
Please note that dates and times and availability is different at each garden centre so please check and don’t delay to book the tickets for your preferred slot.

Tea with Father Christmas at Wyevale lasts around 90 minutes, so please check online for details with your local garden centre. The Wyevale Tea with Santa event is suitable for children between 3–8 years old who must be accompanied by at least 1 paying adult.

Please note, to visit Santa’s Wyevale Grotto, you will need to buy tickets for this attraction separately to your meal with Santa booking.

Celebrate the great side of local young people at this free concert by coming to the Trinity United Reformed Church on Saturday 9th December Starting at 7.30pm. Enjoy a mixture of songs including a chance to sing along with a few songs and all for a great cause.

Gambia Hornchurch International Scout Project, also known as GHISP, has been working with young people for over 8 years to help them develop their social, physical and spiritual selves.

In Scouting we believe that we should do our best and do our duty. What started as an international trip has grown into a friendship that has affected both the UK Scouters and the Upper River Region Community and Scouters in The Gambia.

We aspire to help our friends to improve their quality of life by helping them achieve simple things like electricity to their communities, running water, toilets and much more.

We want to help ours friends towards a better quality of life.
