The ‘Royal Air Forces Association’ (eg RAFA) have had a presence in Romford since 1945 and the Club have been operating from its Carlton Road premises since the late 1950’s.

The RAF Association is established to promote, through the comradeship engendered by its members, the welfare by charitable means of all serving and former members of our Air Forces, their spouses and dependants, together with the widows and dependents of those who died whilst serving or were injured.

The current RAFA Club building in Carlton Road, was originally built in 1881 as a Town House for a Surgeon, it was called Carlton House, from which Carlton Road was named.

The RAFA’s social club, although popular and well attended – requires continued membership to keep the numbers and its membership income up – and a lot of focus and effort has been voluntarily committed to the Club by some of its members, to carry out essential renovations and repairs, to bring its facilities and functions up to date and attractive to potential new members.

RAFA have lots of upcoming events:

Tuesday-Weekly – Karaoke Night
