Former Havering College student, Charles Babalola, has landed himself a supporting role in the new series of Broadchurch currently showing on ITV.
Charles graduated from the BTEC National Diploma in Acting course in 2010 before going on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Since leaving drama school, Charles has appeared in several TV series and blockbuster movies including The Legend of Tarzan, where he stared alongside Hollywood A-listers Samuel L Jackson, Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie.
One of Charles former lectures commented, “Charles was always a student actor with a desire to improve. He worked hard to master what he found difficult and had great charisma on stage. It is no surprise to us that he has found success in a very difficult field and we are proud that he started this journey with us.”
Charles appeared in a number of Havering College productions during his two years of study at college’s £6million Centre of Creative Arts in Hornchurch, Greater London. The college holds Artsmark Gold status from Arts Council England in recognition of its commitment to, and excellence in, arts education.
Charles said: “I am sure Havering College has played a part in my success. The Performing Arts Drama course gives you variety and is good preparation for drama school.”
