Ardleigh Green Junior School have released a video of the pupils singing a song called “We Will Remember” in memory of the Armistice Day’s Centenary

The song was written by their music teacher Andrew Linham and over the last few weeks the school has been learning about what life would have been like in Ardleigh Green during World War 1.

“This included looked at old maps with help from a local historian Norma Jennings and learned a variety of WW1 songs with help from Mr James Rimell.” John Morris OBE

“The song was a culmination of our work and was designed to allow us to remember those who gave their lives that we might be free. “

“You will also see on our website a wonderful  poppy picture of a soldier made by the children. In the assembly we read an original letter from a soldier named Billy writing from France to his family back home in Sussex. We have adopted our soldier as Billy!”

The website can be found at www.ardleighgreenjun.org.uk
