Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12
Yesterday was the funeral of Pat Miller, who was the youth worker at St Andrews Church for 16 years
Pat was a listening and kind person, she was caring and never wanted anyone to feel left out.
She was not afraid to speak her mind and would see herself as the voice of the youth, speaking up for you when she thought you needed support. But she would not take your limelight, instead opting to walk beside you.
She was the kind of person who would remember little facts about you, you’d be speaking to her and she would recall events and times that even you didn’t remember and you would often get cards from her whether on your birthday, wedding or another anniversary
She would often see the incredible in the people, particularly the youth, she worked with and a common phrase she would use as she described her day was “and the amazing thing about that was…”, seeing the potential in everybody
Pat Miller will be sorely missed by many people
There will be a memorial service at St Andrews Church, Hornchurch on the 17th January 2016 at 6.30pm. All are welcome
