Upminster Infant and Junior Schools are looking for help to mark the 100 Centenary of the end of World War I

Upminster Infant and Junior School is looking to do something amazing to mark the 100 Centenary of the end of World War I

The school wants to create 100s of poppies to attach to the school railings

Every year in November, the nation marks the wars that have scarred our past and the bravery of the men and women who fought them. Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday is a chance to remember not just those who fought, but what they fought for. This year will be 100 years since the
end of WWI.

To complete their vision we will need the whole community to come together to create something great

We need the bottom port of empty bottles cut into a flower shape (see below). We will then point these at school and attach them to the school railings. If you wish to help us create our vision you could also send in painted poppies that you have worked on at home. To make this possible we will need as many as possible.

In the week leading up to the 11h November we will attach the poppies to the school railings and fences.
