They’re among the south-east’s favourite continental visitors. They bring performing skills learned and polished over six generations of Big Top artistry. They represent a colourful cultural heritage which delights old and young alike. Responding to popular demand, they’re bringing their new 2019 show to Dagenham.

They are the Santus family, bringing circus savoir-faire and polished style from their native France, and ready to greet old friends and make new ones as their 2019 circus tour begins.

Brothers Ernest and Roger Santus are members of some of France’s most illustrious circus families. Taking on almost every sort of skill and presentation, from hand-balancing and trapeze to unicycling, juggling, and acrobatics, they’ve performed across Europe and in Asia, and they’ve won top prizes at the prestigious Monte Carlo Circus Festival.

This is traditional circus with a French flavour. Santus is the only circus in the UK to feature the thrills of the flying trapeze. The 2019 production includes top international artistes from Mongolia, Colombia, Germany, Switzerland, and of course Britain and France. Performances run just under two hours, and feature flying trapeze, high-wire walkers, the ‘Chinese pole’, aerial performance, mystifying quick-change, hula-hooping, contortionism, and gentle friendly clowning.

Santus Circus performs under a colourful and comfy heated Big Top. Prices start from £10 (but look out for Discount Vouchers to get money off!) A Family Ticket for two adults and two children costs just £45. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, all seats are priced at just £8, first-come-first-served.

Santus Circus performs under the Big Top at Central Park, Rainham Rd, DAGENHAM RM10 7EU (next to the Civic Centre) from Wednesday 12th to Sunday 16th June.

“…some truly stunning aerial work and a high degree of attention to thematics and choreography. This is theatre-quality stuff: Olympian-standard athleticism and Royal Ballet-level grace, but slung fifty foot in the air, whirled by a toe or the neck.” Anna Morrell, WOW Magazine Kent, 6th April 2015
