From drama and dancing to balloons and buried treasure, there’s lots of laughter at the Queen’s this summer with a colourful range of fun-packed workshops and shows!

Never mind lie-ins and telly – the Queen’s is offering two weeks of pure creativity instead with its Summer Holiday Workshops. Play in a Week, from 3 – 7 August and tailored to children aged 7 – 10, is a fun-filled five days of games and drama and crafts skills as the group learns how to put a play together. The course culminates with an exciting play presented to friends and family. Workshops run from 9.30am – 1.30pm. Places are £60.

Meanwhile, youngsters aged 9 – 16 will love Make a Musical in a Week, a second workshop running from 10 – 14 August. There is a wonderful opportunity to work with a director and musical director at the Queen’s as they are shown how to create their own musical. They will learn performance skills such as acting, singing and dancing and perform the show on stage. Workshops run from 10am – 4pm. Places are £90.

There is even more artistic fun on the cards with three Create & Play Mornings from Tuesday 18 – Thursday 20 August, where ages 4 – 6 will delight in two hours of sticking, glueing and making their very own creatures! There’ll be Alien Adventures on 18 August, plenty of Monkeying Around on 19 August andBuried Treasure on 20 August. Workshops run from 10am – midday. Places are £10 with special offers available.

An interactive storytelling workshop, Story Play, welcomes children aged 4 – 7 in the Queen’s Foyer onSaturday 22 August at 10am. Packed with exciting games and based on a popular fairy tale, a child’s ticket is just £5. And taking over the Foyer at 11.30am is Circuloso Ridiculoso – The Big Balloon Spectacular! Starring Danny – award-winning entertainer and master balloonsmith – who presents astounding elastic feats such as The Human Balloon, Poppy the Balloon and much more! Perfect for 3+ years, tickets for adults or children are just £5.

Budding wildlife fans will love a fascinating show presented by Autumnwatch’s Iolo Williams on Sunday 23 August at 5pm. The popular BBC presenter takes everyone on an exciting wildlife tour of his Welsh homeland from mountain tops to seashore – meeting disco-dancing black grouse and Britain’s largest spider along the way!  Tickets start at £12.50.

Families will want to sing their hearts out to Sing-a-long-a Frozen on 31 August at 3.30pm. There’ll be a full screening of this Disney smash hit along with on-screen lyrics and a live host to show everyone how to use their free prop bags, help warm up their vocals and take them through some fabulous dance moves! Tickets start from £10 and family tickets are available.
